Hi there,
I've been homerecording for a long time now, but never get the bassguitar sound like I actually want it to. I'm looking for a thing that gives me a metallic click when punched harder than averageon the desired tones (so not the whole time).
I get the same idea when I boil my strings, but they deteriorate rapidly and then they sound shitty and muffled again. Is there a way or device to get this sound without putting the treble full up thus having a lot of hiss? I work on Status basses and they have a lot of treble which makes it very thin-sounding when full-up.
Can you help me???
Bye Ralph

Hmmm...well, seeing as i'm not really a bass player, i'm really not sure if this'll work, but it COULD..hehehe... Why don't you try a wah-wah pedal and rock it all the way forward. Given, this'll accentuate the treble, but not really in the same manner as if you were to push it up on the EQ. Who knows, may work. If you've got the pedal give it a try..good luck...

You can EQ and add all the effects that you want but after one boiling you are done.

I've played bass for many years and there is only a small window that you have as far as good tone. When they go bad put on new ones or boil'em and record it fast.
