Understand me well ^^. I`ve got a room about 3/3.5meter and 2.5height with naked walls, pannels on the floor and carpet on it (smaller than floor, about 2/1,20m).
The main problem is 'is there any sense to invest cash and work in this room?'. What do you think ? I want to make the studio but i don`t know the size of this room isn`t too small.
I need it to record vocals and guitars (electric and accoustic). I prefer the rock style.

$.02

duh??? so what's the alternative??? if you can invest in a bigger room sure do it ... but still need to treat it...

Well, the main question is for how long is this going to be your studio. If this is the best that you are going to have for years then sure it makes sense.

The other thing to bear in mind is that the best stuff to treat the room, 703 fiberglass broadband absorbers, are easily taken down and used in your next room. So it is not an investment just in this room.

Disadvantages

Im asking becouse for instance it`s not possible to tune every car. The most interesting things for me are disadvantages. For example in 3/3.5m room could be impossible to eliminate standing waves (i dont know how it`s named, just translate from polish ^^).
Futhermore i`ve got of course one window in room.
It`s not good to invest cash in bad things. All in all i could buy a new guitar, or amp, or whatever to make my sound better.
I`ll try to make a photos and show you. Anyhow it can help.

It`s a plan for years, Studio B is larger than my room ^^.

You just gotta work with what you've got really. I'll be mixing in a 6 1/2' x 7 1/2' room. So that's a lot smaller than yours. I'll be placing bass traps in the back corners, and wall to ceiling. Then I'll be treating the first reflection points, and behind the monitors. What ever you do, treating the corners and first reflection points is gonna help a lot. It may not be a brilliant room, but it will be usable.

Ohh and buying a new guitar amp aint gonna help whatsoever in the mixing stage. Could you draw a picture of your room and I'll edit in where i think the room treatment should go?

Picture
'szafa' - it`s a segment
'kanapa' - couch
'stół' - table
'komp' - computer
The red line is window, and green - door. Horizontal lines ~3.5m, vertical ~3m. Carpet is between couch and table. Now computer is moved a little piece to left side (near the window i`ve got the radiator)
That`s all.

A segment? is the table a computer desk? Anyway, i would treat this room as shown below, with the 4" rigid fiberglass absorbtion panels in green/brown.

Ahh, ok. Well you can see the basic setup anyway, so just follow that really.
