Is there any external device, to put a PCI card and plug it through USB or Firewire ?

.......... Anyone ? :)

I thought about doing that once. Take a second computer with a PCI slot, throw the FireWire card into bus mastering mode, disable any drivers for the other PCI card on that machine, then connect the machines together via firewire and write a custom PCI driver that presents no ability to remap the PCI bus, but accesses the remote PCI device via FireWire DMA.

In theory, designing something like that would be possible as long as the FireWire card and the other card are both on the same PCI bus. That said, it would have horrible latency, and would be approximately a third as fast as a native PCI slot, which is one of the many reasons I never did it....

Bottom line: no.

My delta is driving me nuts with the cables in the back of the case. I want to bring it on to the desk, to work a little bit easier with it.

The PCI expansion, is a great choice, but i just need one slot.

Paying a 1000$ dollars for 4 miserable pci expasions, is insane.

Easy way to fix that... Get a snake and a patchbay.

That's what I did, but my cables plug right into my mixer. :)

Snake ? patchbay ?. ok that's new to me.

Do you have any links ?, thanks :)
