i would like to get just an la-2a plugin for pro tools le(not the bundle pack). is such a thing in production? i see they have it for "tdm" set-ups but not le.

What the hell are you talking about? I've been using the bombfactory LA-2A plugin with my Pro Tools LE/PC rig for almost two years! Of course they make it for LE! And you can also use the UAD-1, if you buy the $99 Fxpansion VST-RTAS converter plugin. www.fxpansion.com

Their la-2a kicks butt- not that I have actually compared them to anything else...
They even have a low cost version that only does 44.1 and 48K.

yea i fergot about bomb factory, but it doesn't sound the same as the UA version.. but its nice none the less.. i installed the bomb factory bundle of my partners digi002R setup.. it comes with the La-2a, pultec eq, 1176 and some other stuff.. then he had to buy the fairchild.. it wasn't part of the bundle..
only difference.. its gonna eact up cpu power.. Rtas plugins kill cpu power usually.. thats the great thing a baout a tdm.. DSP
i usually use a Accel hd3 when i go to my cousin's studio.. but at my spot its all about nuendo 2.1 and a uad-1.. soon to be 3 uad-1's and maybe 2 powercore's..
