Hi folks.

I am tired of lugging my Atomic Tube amp around. I am a soloact, and all my gear fits in a small car. I think i would like to go with a 10 inch tube amp if there is such a beast. Something as small as possible, and then mic it. Any of you know of such a model of tube amp?

Thanks

Jeff

... by ten inch tube amp, i'm assuming you mean a small tube amp with a ten inch speaker? if so, i highly recommend the fender pro junior. 2 el84's and 2 12ax7's, 15 watts, 1 ten inch speaker, and they sound fantastic. if you are a solo act it will be more than loud enough (even without micing it in a small club), and can even cut it with a band if it's not too loud.
good luck - jv

I got one. Great amp.

I'm another Fender Pro Jr owner and very often user. That thing has saved my butt on multiple occasions because it's so easy to take anywhere with me. Even when I'm travelling light it's very simple to bring along. I have even run a Pod into it and gotten great results live. Just mic it up and play away. I've never once been disappointed by it, I can't say that about many other of the 30 (bigger) tube amps I've owned. Mine is the old tweed version with blue frame speaker. I bought it brand new and have owned it for 10 years now.

got mine...

(pro jr. that is) last week at a guitar show, it rocks ...mic it up and it's sweet :D

Rivera Pubster. It's 25 watts, all tube into a 10". It's like a Super Champ on steroids.

I have an old Fender Champ silverface all tube amp (the one w/ presence control) ... had originally an 8" speaker, but was modded for a 10" celestion vintage ...

highly recommended soundwise ... its the battlehorse of my equipment ... the bass-dude shows up w/out amp ... hook em up to the champ ... the singer needs amplification ... hook em up to the champ .... cant hear the metronome -> champ ... well you get the pic.

but be warned ... its a small combo (slightly bigger than the typical "practise" junk they sell today) but sure is twice heavy ...

luck!

i tried a nano head at a guitar shop and thought it was a bit silly for the price. for the same price i got a gibson goldtone ga5 les paul jr amp and it is an awesome sounding little 5 watt boutique quality amp that cranks up pretty loud.
