Does cooledit pro come with a manual, or are you supposed to rely on the help menu? The help seems to basically suck. There are problems I've run into that I've been able to solve by posting my questions here that I never would have figured out with the help of that stupid help. I can't rightly get the tech support either because, well lets just say my serial number isn't as unique as I'd like it to be.

I'm way in to manuals, and i'd buy one if it was available. Otherwise I'll just pester you all with my questions. Remember I'm an old school portastudio guy, so this crap is almost all new to me.

Here's my pestering question of the day:

How do I get more than 4 tracks in the session? I've recorded my first 4 tracks, so how do I get a track 5? It seems like I cound just scroll down for the next track, but it just isn't there. Honest.

The manual is included on the CD in a PDF format. If you don't have one, you can download one from the CEP website. The manual isn't the most helpful thing in the world either.

As far as getting to more tracks, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, just scroll down, they will be there, if not, zoom out and then look around, they should be there. I remember having that problem too when I first started using CEP. Seemed like it should have been simple, but it really wasn't.

Thanks Mister Masta.

I tried that on the demo version here at work and it aint working. I don't have the scroll thing on my mouse, and I'm zoomed back as far as I can.

Do I need to have tracks 1-4 recorded on before I can access any higher tracks? That might at least explain why I can't do it on the demo version....

I dont know anything about the demo version... but I can see all the tracks anytime. Recorded or not.

Rats - bottom right corner of the multitrack screen, there's a yellow minus sign and a yellow plus sign. Click on the minus sign, and CEP displays more tracks, click on the plus sign and fewer tracks are displayed. Also, if you put your cursor on the track number column on the right hand side of the tracks, it turns into a little hand - left click and hold, and you can scroll the tracks up and down, revealing hidden tracks, hiding others.

And you can get the manual, I did, by asking for it when you send in your reg card. If you didn't just call them up. I'm sure since they are about to start beat a v2 that they will have extra of v1.

Dobro: AHA!!!! You the man! Thanks, that was so simple.

I downloaded the manual from Syntrillium's web page. Shit, I didn't expect it to be that big. That should help me get where I want to go.

Thank you all for the help!
