hm

I was looking through a catalog today and I think I saw that mic listed for like $10 or $5..without sounding like a doof, I'd guess anything under $70 or so would probably not sound so good..

If you're looking for a cheap mic you'll never toss, get a Shure SM57 or 58.

Good is a hard term to use when your talking about a ten dollar mic.I had about four of them and I gave them all away. They are better than the cheapest Radio Shack mics but are a far cry from a sm57.Musicians Friend has them with a free cable for $11.You can always use an extra cable.

heh

A cable for $11 is probably crap too :P Some idiot client steps on it, and zzt..no more cable.

am I the only one who treats my cables like they're sacred? I try to run my little 'pro' home studio just like that..but when a client steps on a cable a few times by accident, I feel like a dork trying to yell at them in a not-offensive way :)

No rapper2001...the StarPower 1 mic is not any good. Although I've never used one, I think I can say without doubt that the StarPower is no good. Now I'll just wait for the guys that always say "don't give advice if you've never used it" to jump in.:D

So yall sayin' a mic dat used to cost $65.99 is no good?????? I already ordered the special cable deal with the mic free for $11.99. I will order another one also, because it's hard for me to not order a mic that used to cost $65.99 dat cost only $9.99 now. I just wanted to see what peeps had to say dat already had it.

I'll just act like it just came out when it was $65 then lol. It's better than most of the cheap mics they sale now. Imma get me a mic dat cost about $79 when i get mo money anyway. This mic should'nt hurt until then, i guess. Plus i get a free cable :)

Plus these mic's is good for people dat don't have jobs like me.....know what um sayin'.

Hmm...Shure SM57 is usually found for $79.00, not far from $65, but you never see it go on sale for $10...I wonder why? :p

For twelve bucks its really a none issue. If you dont like it your only out twelve bucks anyways, but when you can get that SM57(if that is the $79 mic you are looking at).The Starpower does seem somewhat solidly built(surprisingly so)and is much better than the $10 mic I bought at Walmart years ago.If you cant afford anything else go for it as its a lot better than nothing!
