is the delta 44 any good

It's excellent. But does the Triton have an S/PDIF output? If so, I'd spend the extra $50 or so for the Delta 66...
 
I would tend to agree...i never thought I would use S/PDIF much until I actually STARTED to use it.

Otherwise, the Delta series seems to be the overwhelming fav on this board...
 
Alchuck, the 66 is only $50 more than the 44 now? The best price I've seen on the 44 is $230. What's the best price you've seen on the 66? Maybe I should upgrade!

I was talking approx. street price difference, not list price difference. I paid $299 at Bayview Pro Audio almost two years ago now, and the 44 was $249 then, I believe.
 
$269 for the 66 and $215 for the 44! That's almost as good as the prices were when I got my 44. Anybody remember when Outpost.com was selling Delta44's for $199 with free shipping? Man that was cool....I still think it must've been an accident. :)

Yeah I remember that... I suspect it was a mistake, because it changed very soon after that to something more normal. I had a similar fortuitous thing happen to me when I bought my 19" monitor two years ago -- buy.com had this price that was way lower than anyone else. I ordered one, and two days later the price was back in line with everyone else.
 
I got in on that $199 Delta 44 deal and have been quite happy ever since!
