Is the Alesis DM6 a good first drum set to learn and record?

My house isn't large enough for an acoustic set so I was looking at an Alesis DM6. Is it good for home recording? Will it connect directly to the computer? Is it good to learn on? I found one for $300 and I can't decide if I should get it or not

I don't know about the DM6 specifically, but the Alesis Trigger IO works great with a variety of drum pads.
