I here a lot of studios are beginning to use Nuendo as its Industry Standard ???

Alot of people, i hear saying the same thing, I have nuendo, Its a good program.

there are a few studios i've been to out here that are running nuendo now. steinberg should mix both cubase and nuendo together for a new version and only have one program....maybe it'll be cubase 6 or nuendo 2.0...??? i stilll use both. but i use nuendo for most of my audio stuff.

Just wondering- I use Cubase 32. I use it for strictly for recording instruments. I have never even tried anything MIDI. Is Nuendo really that much better at handling live instruments (guitar, drum machine, piano, electric guitar via POD) Thanks guys.

if you work with midi a lot you'll love cubase. cubase is good for audio but nuendo is better. if you work 98% audio you'll love nuendo

Nuendo vs Cubase

There is a big difference between Nuendo and Cubase here's one reason why. Cubase was developed on the Mac originally for midi work then ported to PC. Nuendo was developed on and for PC and windows mainly for audio work.

One hint about industry acceptance of Nuendo...

Yamaha is releasing a new $20,000. mixing board - the DM2000.

24 fader, 96 channel, 96 Khz throughout, 24 mic pres - looks pretty nice.

It will support ProTools out of the box.

Limited Nuendo support will also be there from the beginning, with full support promised as an update.

No other DAWs are even mentioned. Seems like Yamaha thinks Nuendo is getting some professional penetration.

And with Cubase SX coming out in Q2 2002, and merging all the best of Cubase's MIDI stuff with the Nuendo audio engine, looks to me like Steinberg is trying to go that route... Now, I just have to find out what they're going to do for their arithmetic processing. If that looks better, that means I'll probably go that route from my current VST32, even though it means I'll have to upgrade to W2000 or (shudder) XP.

I can always put the DAW on a subnet of its own, and turn off outgoing connectivity, I guess. I'd just as soon not have to use Microsoft's spyware, but it looks like this might force my hand...
