I don't know much about this kind of stuff....But when I plug them into speakers, it sounds really REALLY bad, it pops, and is really distorted. Is this because of my cheap speakers, or is it my amplifier? Thanks!

Not much to go on.....
Does your board have "Clip" lights? If these are on....you might want to turn the input down a little...
Did it ever sound good? Can you identify a time when it sounded great and then just started making popping noises?
Do you have a shop near by where you can have it checked?
