I am in the planning stages for a project studio.
Objective: Record Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar (Taylor 514, Larrivee C-09) also may want to add some drum tracks, vocal and perhaps a keyboard. I am looking for faithful replication of tone.
I have a lot of bits and pieces of original ideas that I want to start laying down. I also want to do some Christmas music for the relatives.

This is my equipment list (wish) so far.

Based on Harvey's suggestion, I plan to go with 3 mics, 2 - Marshall 603S, 1-V67.

I can't decide if the pre-amps in the KORG are good enough or if I need to add a Mackie Mixer with it's new extended dynamic range pre-amps. The mixer I am looking at is the 1402 or 1604.

Monitors: Have not decided, but I know not to skimp on these.
Any suggestions ?

I am work with computer all day. Don't want to hassle with compatibility issues. Also don't want to have to deal with fan noise.

Would appreciate some advice.

Thanks,
RBauer

a good tube pre may be better than the mackie mixer but the mackie mixer can also be used as a mixer when you need one.
