The demo version of Sonar is out, but I need to install direct x 8a for the real demo. I know for a fact that 8a causes my Guitar Studio 2 to crash, even when it's just sitting idle. although my mouse driver doesn't like CW, and could be a major player in the instaballity. will the trial be fully functional so I won't need Guitar Studio at all for the 30 days, or is it an annoying time per session limited trail?

If I can replace Guitar Studio Entirely for 30 days untill (If) I order Sonar, I'll try it out. If I decide not to upgrade I'll reformat my C: drive to wipe out DX 8a and continue as ussual, but if I still need GS to do serious work, I'll have to skip the demo.

Any demo user help appreciated. please don't link me to www.cakewalk.com

I don't know about the Sonar demo, but the CW PA demo was fully functional except for the Save and Save As features (and also the export audio features if I recall).

This made it completely acceptable for trying it out, but useless for doing any actual work - exactly what a demo is supposed to do. I suspect the Sonar demo uses the same approach.

If your plan is to examine Sonar, this should be fine. However, I don't see how it could replace your Guitar Studio, since you won't be able to save any of your work.

I went for it

Yeah as far as I can tell It's fully functional, even has a trial version mp3 encoder $29.95 to order separate (it's slow as hell but high quallity), save and export work, effects work, etc etc

This is great program. I'm going to upgrade ASAP, but the trial will hold me for 30 days, it has an unlock code on it so it can be immediatly activated after placing the upgrade order

I love the fact you can import mp3 for edit. guitar studio really SUCKS in comparison, I have few complaints about the interface, everything seems to be there except audio view, but actually an altered version of audio view is there, it'll just take a little getting used to, the right click features (in audio view) seem to be gone, but the same commands are in the Edit menu under audio.

anyone who is using an earlier version of cake (or hasn't chosen there software yet) should try this demo.

damn, 7th... you're just dying for a lawsuit and perhaps a trip to jail. Be careful, thats all I have to tell ya... I'm not innocent of everything, but I don't advertise my guilt :)

TO: The seventh THIEF.....

Im gonna come into your house and grab all your equipment, and load it into my trunk and drive away...... The reason, Im gonnna do that, is cause I know you won't chase me for your stuff, cause your beliefs are that peoples property isn't only there own, and the whole world has a right to use it.... At least thats what you believe about software.... So Im gonna instill that belief in myself, and proceed to remove all your personal belongings from your property... it is public domain, right?... I mean you think that way with software, you fucking thief.....

Maybe I should email Geocities, about what your using there webspace for.....

I know your trying to be nice, by offering us freebees, but the majority of us around here aren't thieves like yourself....

Not appreciated, and definately not a way to gain trust of your "elders" (people with more posts), as a newbie...

P.s., By the way, whats your address?

I was asking myself the same question...

When will they ever stop trying to sell pirated shit around here....
I guess, the answer is never.....

Seventh......

Good man!... Pirating is not cool. I know you were trying to do us a favor, but you see the majority of us pay through the nose for software, including me.. I just dropped $1400 on one single program. I and the majority of people are honest and spend our hard earned cash on legit software, and naturally we tend to get a bit pissed, when people are illegally handing it out for free.

Glad you shut the site down.

Hope you stay around, Lots of info here.

Joe

(By the way, im not really gonna rob your house, it was just an analogy, on the topic)...
