Is it possible to market yourself without being able to play shows?

My band cant find a drummer because there arent many in this area and it seems we've already auditioned them all. Our last hope would be to find a new singer to replace me, so that I could drum for a while untill we eventually find a replacement so I can go back to guitar. But this seems just as daunting as finding a drummer. (there are way too many creed wannabes around here.) Anyway, if my band does decide to go seperate ways, I'll be doing the ole play/record/market thing on my own. Is it possible to go anywhere proffessionally on your own without being able to promote your music with shows?

It has been done. Very difficult to get the wheels rolling. That drummer thing seems to be the same everywhere.

This is just a question, NOT intended as a slam. Why don't you just play drums and sing? Not that I could even dream of attempting such a task. I have no trouble singing, moving around, and playing the guitar, but it aint the same as sittin at a drumkit and havin feet, hands, and vocal chords all in synch.

btw, you might try using one of the other drummers you have already tried until someone better comes along. Been there...I feel for ya.
