Well, I'll start this off by saying that I just installed new RAM and a new processor in my PC. I'm sure it's better than what I had.
Got me to thinking about this "spare" laptop.
It's my sisters...well it's mine I guess since she gave it to me when she bought a new one.
It's a Sony VAIO (vgn-nr498e). She bought it back in 08. Windows Vista, 32-bit, 3 gb ram, 225 gb HD (im sure its not 7200 rpm), and intel core 2 duo t5750 @ 2.00 ghz.
and its pink
Oh, and there are 4 usb ports.
Now, while it certainly wouldn't be my primary DAW, I think it would be nice to have a laptop for recording on the go that could hang on its own. My as well put that endless supply of Cubase Le5 to use right?
Anyway, what I want to know is whether or not it is possible to upgrade this thing (new harddrive, ram, probably os unless vista can hang, cpu
) for less than $200-300? And if it is possible and worth it, what would it take?
