I cannot finish the installation, it always stops at different points, saying there was an error ... any idea? I thought maybe XP compatibility issue...

2.5 works fine. You may have to reinstall the original program again however and then the 2.5 upgrade if the database of Giga has been corrupted. I had this happen about 3 months ago.
