It's been a great marketing strategy - bashing the product and then having defenders come to the rescue. I'll bet SP B1 sales have gone up since the bad quality control thread appeared.

It's like going to a Christian board and posting "God has poor quality control - he's made these defective units called humans." Defense of God and the human race ensues.

Brilliant marketing, DJL/Alan. My hat's off.

Like if the handful of people who bothered going through the thread and who MIGHT start thinking about buying a B1 now will have ANY noticable effect on SP's sales.

No the truth is, DJL isn't bashing SP's product, he's bashing SP's marketing, especially some comments made by Alan that were off the cuff, and not cleared by marketing or legal, I bet. It's true that Alan overstated something, and then the feeding frenzy began. I'm pretty sure Alan isn't DJL. I don't think he's quite that detail oriented. Too many things to do to review all posts line by line for technical accuracy. I think Alan did say something that was innacurate, and a mountain has been built from a molehill. Besides, everybody knows Alan Hyatt is really Chessrock.-Richie

Damn! And all this time I thought Alan was Gidge....

Or is Gidge............ Brent Casey????????????????

Hmmmmm.......anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

The facts don't lie...Gidge used to pimp the hell out of Marshall mics...Brent left Marshall...Gidge has become a part-time Marshall pimp now...and occasionally gives SP products a begrudging compliment....

Your Honor.....I rest my case!

I will test drive it later.

why would a little thread increase the sales of a company?? Even if one or two people on this board decided to get a SP mic based on a stupid thread, it is totally insignificant in terms of overall sales. Don't overrate the power of threads.

Is crazy really SweetTubs?

If 797 Audio in China makes the Studio Projects microphones for PMI Audio in CA, USA and 797 Audio in China ships the SP mic's straight to the UK for sale instead of shipping the mic's to PMI in CA, USA for inspection first... does PMI/Studio Projects even do a quality control inspection?

It's good to know a few people can see the truth about what really happened.

If Alan is DJL, Gidge, and Chessrock he sure talks to himself a lot.

BTW: I'm Uli Behringer. ;)

But the guys at the bank won't believe me. :(

Yeah. Well I'm Keith Barr.

And I'm really really sorry.
