Is CHANTING to the PROPHET considered SINGING?

I remember being in Turkey lying in bed listening to the chant from the minaret at dawn, one of the most beautiful sounds I ever heard. Some of those guys have some serious singing chops.
 
Prophet 5, 10, T8, 600? Or just any sequential synthesizer in general?
