I recently(months ago)bought a dp-01fx-cd and have found it to be a good notebook for ideas and such, but..............

i was wondering if anyone knew what computer editing software would work well with it, or am i waisting time and money trying to peice computer and outboard "notebook" together?
.

I have and use frequently my DP01.
I use it as my tracking device.
Once I finish capturing my instruments, I export all tracks to my pc, and mix, add effects and edit with cool edit pro 2.0.
I find this method pretty convenient, effective and cheap ;)
Cheers!

i've exported tracks over to my pc befor and and was mighty time consuming..... any suggestions on how to speed up the procedure?

I've found that what's time consuming is exporting the tracks from the DP01's native partition, to the fat partition. The copy/paste procedure from the DP01 to the pc is quite fast I might say.
I don't know if there's a way to make the transfer any faster.
Are other brand DAW's faster??
Cheers!

that's more or less what i was tryin' to say...also my pc is pretty old and most of my hardrive is jammed so it slows down considerably.

do you think there might be a way to speed up the process?

the dp 01 uses a usb 2.0 connection to transfer files to the pc. my computer only has usb 1.0 so i'm slow. you may have the same problem.

I have an older PC, and I used to run my tracks into it from my DP1. It seemed to work well, and just about any recording software will for for the mixing portion, just a matter of what you are comfortable with.
