I think yes. Anything which takes that much vocal control to me would fall on the singing side. This and the chanting the profit question made me think about throat singing as well and what a wild thing it is. Would love to learn more about it and how it is done.

One time when my wife and I were going to Florida.....we passed thru the Gulf Shores area and, as usual, I was channel surfing the radio.
Believe it or not, I ran across a station whose station motto was "All Yodel...All the Time."
And it was true. I never knew there were so many yodel songs. They did fast yodel.....yodel ballads......accappella group yodel......traditional and non-traditional yodel.........it was pretty cool for a while.
When we came back home about a week later.........the station was gone. :D
Guess there wasn't much of a market base.

So in answer to your question..............who cares?! :D

[Is a yodeller a singer?

Just curious.

I had to answer this now, because i had never seen this before.

Yodelling actually comes from the ancient Northern Europeans religious ceremonies! As part of their religious servicies, they would "Yodel" what are called "Rune Songs".

The Yodel incorporates the vowels of the Runes.

Now, is that wild or what? :D
