My friend has an Aardvark Q10, but I want it. He said he would only sell it if he could get a better card. He likes the Digidesign 001 because it comes with ProTools and he thinks ProTools is the greastest thing ever. How well is the 001 compared to the Aardvark Q10? If he was going to replace the Q10, what would be a good card to replace it with? He still wants 8 inputs and likes the combo jacks. He was also thinking about getting 2 Aardvark 24/96 and using them together. What that be good?

Pro Tools is good, but changing from Aardvark Q10 to Digi 001, no good! Hardware wise I would stick on to the aardvark, I don't know what software your friend is using, but Protools has become an industry standard, so it makes sense to have protools at the studio.

Right now with the Aardvark Q10, he uses Sonar 2.0. Is the Pro Tools that comes with the sound card the real Pro Tools are the LE version?

It's LE and limited to 32 tracks. I'd stick with Sonar if I were him.
