Is there any surefire way that you guys know of to get my Delta 44 on its own IRQ? I keep switching around the order of my PCI cards, and it never seems to happen.

Ahhhhhhhh, you've said the evil word (IR...not gonna say it). I freakin hate those things, we've aptly named our hard drives IRQs, SUCK, ASS (respectively). So the only real help I can offer is check out bluelifeaudio.com, that's one of the few places online that helped us, we also ended up reformating a bunch of times. I'll try and dig up a couple of links that helped us through.

Sorry this ended up being a useless post, sheesh.

IRQ problems suck. There are a couple of ways that I've had it work. The first way is to remove all of your non essentials like network cards, modems, other sound cards, etc. and then install the delta card first. Then go into your device manager and play around with reserving irq's. experiment with reserving an irq for your card, or reserving an irq for the device that keeps sharing an irq with your card.

Another option is to set-up a hardware profile just for your delta card. The best thing to do is remove all of your non-essential cards and devices both physically and through the device manager. Then install the delta card only and save that as a new hardware profile. Then install everything else. When you boot, you'll be asked which hardware profile to use. Choose your delta only profile and you should be in business.

The option that I currently use with my Dman 2044 card is to go into my device manager and look for the card when I first boot up. It's usually marked with the yellow circle and exclamaition point meaning it's not working. I highlight it and click remove. I then click refresh and it re-installs the driver (which I keep stored on my hd) and then it works like a champ. I have to do that everytime I boot up, but it beats dealing with hardware profiles when you have us much extar hardware as I do.

cominginsecond,
Its hard to give meaningful advice without knowing your setup and what OS are you running.
Sometimes its enough to disable all unnecessary devices in BIOS (serial ports, usb, onboard network, audio etc.) to free more IRQs, and have the system reassign your hardware.
Sometimes, in case of Windows 2000, you can't get control over IRQ assignment unless you disable ACPI. Technically you can do it without reinstalling, but that is a time bomb. Therefore you are facing reinstalling your system as "Standard PC".
