Ipod Playback

hey I have a behringer 1222FX mixer and I have an ipod input which I use to play along to.
what I would like to know if I can include the ipod song in my recording so the mixer actually records the song with my drums overlapped?

Could you just lay down a track of drums while you play to the song, then put the song in as a separate track?

Yes - the ipod signal is in the stereo mix... so are your drums I assume...

As to why you're do this... can I guess it's so you can hear how you track against the song later, or else you'd follow jake's advice above.

yeh its just mainly when I am doing a cover of a song...thanks for your input guys
