Hello Everyone,

I am new to analog recording. My passion has always to play guitar (10 years), and recently I acquired a teac 3340 4-track and a 2-track. Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers in learning some basics skills that I can apply to my new past time? Also in the meantime I purchased several books from amazon that discuss analog recording and also tube circuits and what not.

Look forward to chatting with u peeps

Thanks

Welcome to the site Danny.

I'm not really an analog guy, but some general tips I can give would be to google any general questions you have so you can see different views, as well as utilize YouTube to help you out with gear reviews, or recording techniques, etc.

There is a nice analog forum here as well. Check it out, and introduce yourself over there too ;)

Thanks for the kindly gestures,

I did get a chance to check out the analog forum (over my head) but alot of interesting comments and stuff... DIG!

This is the funhouse! Dang I thought it was the monkey house ..... I gotta go.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Have you got any ideas as to what you'll be recording? anything beyond your guitar?

You will of course need some mics. have you got any already or you thinking of investing in some?

right now just my guitar with single coil pickups, rhythm, and upright bass. I bought myself a small affordable soundcraft mixer and a nady ribbon mic. I tested the mic and sounded pretty good as far as my ears go.. heh thats enough said about that. Toughest part right now is finding some usable and affordable tape. But i got to say its fun working with analog.
