Slowing becoming un-noob.
Just my own DIY project. Took about an hour.

Pic.

Nothing new except 6 screws. Just chopped out the mid section and screwed the bottom to the top. I'll be making a new small cab for the speaker sometime in the near future.
The holes are for ventilation. I'll probably put a piece of cloth of some sort over the front, but right now I like it how it is.

I considered doing that, till I realized I'd then have to schelp around TWO boxes.

It works well for using my 2x12, which sounds LOADS better than the 10" speaker. (Even upgraded to the rajin cajun)
You shouldn't have done that. Now all of the bees will escape and leave the amp toneless. :D
Ha, yeah, well oh well. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to bee stings anyways. :D

yeah...looks good except all the words are backards. :p

That amp is sold in the Southern Hemisphere-the seasons and even the water flow is reversed down there. Only figures that the writing is dyslexic too!!:D

Okay, I know, I started it, but really, we have had our fun, let's behave.

elenore19, that looks like some darn good work you did, there. You should cut down a piece of the original grill cloth, put it and the "Fender" badge on the front of your head (well, the amp's head, you know, the head you build, not the one you were born with...)

nice work!

i'm with stevieb, though. you need to make a front valence for it. mojo musical supply (aka mojotone) sells grill cloth and it's pretty cheap. it'd be around $15 for what you need for the front of that amp, and you'd probably have enough left over for a 1x12 speaker cabinet.

i'm in the process of making a blond head cabinet for my '74 vibrochamp, to match my blond cabinet (with a 10 and a 12). i'm almost done--i just haven't installed the chassis straps or the head yet.

the thing that's got me held up (aside from the time sink known as two children under 4) is that silver faceplates just don't look too good in a blonde cabinet, and i can't find anyone who'll make a brown one for a reasonable price (and no one will put "fender" on one). i could always replace it with a blackface one, but it'd look killer with a brown faceplate and those big white/cream knobs. :D

really though, you're 90% of the way there--finish the job.

cheers,
wade
