Internal speakers

Hi,

I have an ACER Aspire 7003WSMi laptop which I use for simple recording. My problem right now are the internal speakers. If I increase the volume above 50 they give a very high and unbearable sound. When I use the keyboard there is a milder sound sometimes.

I tried to change all kinds of settings using the volume mixer and Realtek HD Audio Manager: no result sofar.

You want a solution? Get some real speakers

Sorry, there is no way around it. However much you tweak them with EQ, they're going to sound crap.

Thanks for the quick reply. Fyi I use external speakers.

The problem is that the volume set using the computer cannot be set higher than 48%. In that case I get the sounds I explained, even now I'm typing this. So it's not about quality but about a nuissance I wan't to get rid off.

Any helpfull advice is much appreciated.

Sorry, I still don't quite understand the problem.

So you're running external speakers from your laptop's soundcard, but you can't set your laptop's volume above ~50% otherwise it distorts? Is that iit?

What speakers have you got? Are they active speakers or running from an amp? What is the input gain set like on them? Maybe you are clipping the inputs of the speakers/amp when you set the output of your laptop higher.


On a side note; in any recording situation, using the stock soundcard of your laptop would never be recommended anyway. Ideally you should be running through some kind of audio interface or upgraded soundcard.

It's just the laptop, nothing connected. I cann't find to set it in such away that it doesn't distort.

When I move my hand closely above my keyboard I get the distortion in the left-below corner (shift-ctrl-Fn buttons). Not sure what is situated there but will go and look for that.
