Hi everyone, my name is tackle man, a.k.a. Pat. Over the last couple years. My previously buzz free home studio has become a nightmare. It is haunted by an intermittent buzz buzz buzz buzz cadence that seems to emulate from my home electrical system itself. If I plug in a simple guitar amp there's a good chance this buzz will show up. If I plug a guitar and pedal board into the amp the buzz will become more frequent and intense. Some days I can have a session where I work on a mix or simply record some vocals in the buzz will never show up. Occasionally I will hear the same buzz cadence coming from my desktop computer speakers which are upstairs and on a different circuit than the studio.

About a year ago after being informed by our cable man that there was a significant amperage leak coming into our home, the power company showed up and replace the underground power line between our home in the street. That fixed the light dimming issue we had but did not stop the intermittent buzz. Believe me I have tried turning on and off everything in my home, replacing cables throughout the studio, and even some heavy drinking to no avail.

If anyone here on this site has any suggestions I would love to hear them. I'm no electrical genius and really not even an adequate studio engineer, but I am desperate. This buzz has ruined several sessions with my musician friends and it's really starting to wear me out.

If you could post a recording of the buzz it may help in diagnosing the source.
