interface suggestions for laptop w/Windows MCE?

I am a professional musician. For fun, I record myself playing my horn just one channel at a time, layering parts for quartets, etc.
At home, I have an Octava mic, DMP3, and Audiophile 2496 that I am very happy with.
I would like to get something to keep me busy in the hotel when I'm on the road. I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 with Windows Media Center Edition on it. I have read that almost no companies support MCE. Is there any interface that will work for me? (I have 4pin Firewire and USB 2.0) I don't need any more than two inputs and I don't want to spend more than $200 if I can help it. Thanks!:)

I bought an Inspire GT yesterday. I have recorded a couple of tracks without any problems into Reaper.
I only have 14 days to return this.
Can you suggest what I should do to test out all its capabilities so that I can uncover problems before the deadline?
