I am buying an interface for around $500. Ideally it will come with Cubase LE, so then I can upgrade to Cubase Studio 4 (which I am also going to get) for cheaper than buying Cubase Studio outright (saves 200).

I have looked at the following (and read a bunch of info from the search engines here on these products):

-Presonus FP10
-Focusrite Saffire Pro 10
-Tascam FW1804 (discontinued? still on website though)
-T.C. Electronic Konnekt 24D

It seems like a lot of people are happy with the Presonus, and I am heading in that direction. If there is anyone that feels one of the other interfaces either works better with Cubase or is more reliable, please let me know. Also, if there are other firewire interfaces with MIDI in this price range, preferably with Cubase LE, I would appreciate some info.

Finally, I know a lot of people here would probably recommend the MOTU 8pre, and if it is much better sounding or way more reliable than the others listed, I would be willing to spend the extra cash (it doesn't come with Cubase LE, would have to buy the full version straight up). Let me know if it is worth it.

Thank you very much.
