I'm looking to record guitar through my vox ac15c1 amp with an sm57 and i'm new to proper recording as my old amp had an emulated output that i could just plug directly into my macbook's input... so does anyone have any suggestions of which interface i should get? I'm looking for something reasonably cheap but reliable, with 2 or 4 xlr inputs and i'm using garageband for now but will probably get cubase sometime soon. I don't really know anything about interfaces so any advice about them and would be really helpful! thanks
okay, thankyou! i'll probably get one of those then... Also, i've found a Peavey PV6 USB Mixer for reallly cheap - what is the difference between this and an interface, recording wise? Would it be useful to get for a little amateur studio seeing as it's so cheap? Sorry i'm a noob haha
For $57 more ($250 as opposed to $193) you can get an Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 that records 8 discreet channels and has a built in mixer AND comes with Cubase LE 4 - seems to be quite worth the extra $57
