I was just thinking about recording technology the other day and how far it has advanced as of late. More specificaly in the last few years. Anyways what I'm getting to is that most of the reviews of the motu 24io have not been very good. Everyone is dissing it saying "how could it be any good" when you factor the package price to the number of converters you get. How could anyone give you 48 quality converters for $1500 they say? Then I was mentally comparing todays computer recording rigs to what most people were using for digital recording like five to ten years ago, adats and stuff like that. So I was thinking how afull those things sonded even back then compared to the toys we have today. Not to mention the added benefits of todays editing capabilities. I guess my point is that we are somewhat spoiled here in the present and stuff is only going to get better quality wise in the future. What I am getting down to is that I think the idea of using your computer as a multi track recorder with crazy editing features is not getting the attention it should, too many people are getting wrapped up with mixing in the box, I think there should be more products like the 24io and I have heard one recently and I thought it sounded 100 times better than those old adats.
