Interesting but....

Okay, I can see this unit making the sound that it receives similar to a different mic. The problem is that it can't possibly do anything with the signal that it doesn't receive.
It isn't going to add the subtle characteristics of the performance, like the scrape of a pick on the string, that would be picked up by a $2000 mic.
"You can't teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig."

loudnaybor - yeah, it's impossible, like trying to get a high resolution print from a low res negative.

Hey, who said that thing about the pig? Sounds like Mark Twain.

Reminds me of the VS880EX. There are several mic sims that do seem to alter the sound, but I don't know if the sounds are really correct as I have no prior knowledge and nothing to compare them to. I would like to know. I'd try to get my pig's advice, but he's so easily annoyed.

Dobro,
Good call! Yes, it was Mark twain.
(Notice that I live in Missouri, he's a bit of a local hero) :)

This thing is the best ever. I promise. It is by Antares and they really know what they are doing. Check out the NAMM article videos at harmony-central.com it looks like it will be awesome. Plus, there is a direct X pluggin coming as well.
