Interesting (bad?) news about the artwork

If you saw the comp cd at the jam fest, you might be a little suprised when you see the real deal....I just got a call from QCA and they're having trouble with my artwork.

Apparently I did something wrong, and the rake, which is grey, has a sort of yellowish hue when they print it....so does the circle in the center of the booklet. Frankly I don't know what I did wrong, because they look grey on the screen and when printed on a regular inkjet printer.

Now they can print off the TIF and get the right grey, but the text isn't near as sharp as it is on the EPS...and since there's so much text, I opted for them to just give me a dang yellow rake :)

She said that nobody would probably notice if they didn't know what it was supposed to look like...so I'm hoping that means they'll at least look nice.

Anyway, graphics are coming back to me tomorrow and I hope to have them by monday.

Problem, what problem ?!

I'll look at it this way. Future runs of this volume might be corrected so they look "better", but so what? Those of us who were smart enough to pre-order are guaranteed getting a copy of the first run, includes-the-mistake Volume II CD set.

These things should just get more and more valuable as time goes on. Glad I ordered myself a few sets! :D :cool: :p

It might be an rgb to cmyk problem. If you have any prepress questions in the future I'm happy to help out (I'm a graphic designer)
 
The graphics were all CMYK. Problem was that the graphic that came out yellowish was supposed to be greyscale. Hence the printer tried to make grey from CMYK and was a little heavy on the yellow. No biggie.

I sure coulda used your advice a month ago!! :)

Ok, the rake doesn't look too bad...I mean it's kinda fugly, but I can certainly live with it. The rest of the graphics look great, especially for just being lasered. (SWORDED!)

Jamal, I'll try to ship yours in the first batch....but be sure to leave a forwarding address when you move!

Ummm.... I was wondering....

You see, I was kind'a expecting an album with an all-gray rake, and seeing how that isn't the case now, is there anyway I can get a refund?

saw a post about that someone...the "-" was in the wrong spot...it should have been "Gold-"

i think fuckups ad to the value so mine is going on ebay starting at $100...........
 
I think it's pretty obvious that it's not King's Gol.

dictionary.com defines gol as:

"General Operating Language. Subsystem of DOCUS. [Sammet
1969, p.678]."

and I'm not sure what a king would be doing with that.

Also, I did a member search and could find no one by the name dbdbdbuck.
