After having heard Nasty things about Intels i820 Motherboard, and having bought the cc820 MB, I was wondering if anybody knows about any problems with the cc820?

Yeah.

The primary benefit of the i820 chipset is that it can SUPPOSEDLY utilize RDRAM. However, tests have shown that the an i820 board loaded with RDRAM will not outperform a BX board with SDRAM....and in some cases performs WORSE. It is my own opinion that the i820 chipset is such a piece of shit because it was rushed due to release of the K7 by AMD.

I know that Asus makes a i820 mobo that takes SDRAM which would save you a bundle. Especially since adding RDRAM isn't worthwhile.

Now the i840 chipset is another story. I'm not sure if it's even out yet, but from what I gather...it works.

Anyway, Intel boards on the whole are not super performers. It seems that other manufacturers have been able to do more with Intel chipsets than Intel has...which isn't suprising really since motherboard design is not their primary focus.
