The former - I played the same guitar tracks four times. I'd originally done it just twice, one hard Left and one hard Right, but I wasn't happy with the tone on the intro riff so eventually after I'd recorded all the rest of the solos and really almost the entire remainder of the album, I went back and re-recorded two more tracks of the rhythm guitars with my new Suhr Modern 7 (partly to improve the mix, and partly as an excuse to record something with that guitar, which kicks all sorts of ass). I actually left video running and nailed the whole thing in two consecutive takes, which I thought was kind of funny - it's not super hard but I usually fuck up SOMEWHERE, haha.
drew peters, i'm new to recording. by quad tracked u mean u actually played the same guitar riffs, i mean the whole thing 4 times over and put them on on the other or just played once and copied pasted?
