This is an early attempt at recording for me. It's all done digitally, with midi drums and the guitar through a toneport. My questions are mainly about mixing and levels, but you can talk about anything you want (keeping in mind that it's not a complete song, just the basis for one).

It sounds a bit heavy on the high end to me. I'm not sure if I actually have too much treble on the guitars or if it's just the lack of a bass guitar making it sound that way. Also, would you say that the rhythm guitar is too low? It's covered up a lot by the lead part, but I intended the rhythm to add more ambience than real melody to the song anyway. I'm curious to hear an outsider's opinion though.

Thanks a lot.

Your off to a nice start.
I think the song sound far away to me, especially at around the 20 second mark. I don't know if you have a overall reverb or if it's the individual instruments that are recored like that.
The drums seem kinda low before the slide guitar part; during the 'slide'ish' section the levels sound better.
Besides that it sounds pertty good. Keep it up.

Yeah, that's just the way I recorded the individual intruments. I know you're not supposed to mix through headphones, but at the time I had no good speakers available to me so I did it anyway. This is where that gets me I suppose. I appreciate the feedback though, thanks. Anyone else?
