Guys,
Pls post the instrument apps links for different instruments. Which may be useful in the absence of the actual instruments.

Apps are for i-devices. Do you mean VSTi plug-ins to use in a DAW?

VSTs or stand-alone as long as it can record multi tracks in DAW.

thanks Jonny,
will these NATIVE INSTRUMENTS work if I don't know how to play them?

You can download a demo version and try it out. I think it's called Kontakt Player. You install that, then download and install the free instrument pack.

You might want to try Sampletank Free as well.

And yes, you don't need to know how to play each instrument - you play them all using midi.

But you'll need a MIDI controller (or knowledge of editing/creating MIDI files).

@mjb are these MIDI controller only hardware or there are software MIDI controllers too?
Is editing MIDI files similar to editing wave files?

I downloaded SmapleTank free. trying to Import a .wav song but its not converting it just stuck and not doing anything.
it says 'decoding source format'

You can use a hardware midi keyboard. Otherwise, SampleTank has an onscreen keyboard - you can click the keys with the mouse. Or, you can edit MIDI parts by hand in your preferred DAW/sequencer software.

You don't import songs into SampleTank. You load it into your DAW as an effect and it will play samples of the chosen instrument according to MIDI instructions. These instructions can come directly from a hardware MIDI keyboard, from mouse clicks on the SampleTank front end/GUI, or from a MIDI part in the DAW.

I think you need to read/watch a tutorial on using a VSTi - do a search for the DAW you're using.

looks like audition doesn't support VSTi. Does it mean that it won't support Native Instrument virtual instruments?
I tried play the keys but there was no sound produced when i run the stand-alone version.
