having probs installing us122 driver on laptop,have done the clean uninstall thing-not sure if laptop has hyperthreading which is supposed to be turned off...aaarrrgh help anybody-fricken annoying

Well, if you are not sure about hyperthreading, then I would guess that you have windows XP. If that is the case, please open "my computer" and on the left side of that screen click on "view system information" and let us know what information you see. At least then we can tell you what your processor is and where to go next.
