installed delta 44 last night and....

well i popped it in and loaded the drivers, computer recognizes it but...heres the issue.

Q.
the original snd card is incorporated in the mobo(boo hiss). after installing the delta 44, the old snd crd stopped output'n.
i know this is a good thing(in a way)but i thought that i would manually have to disable it.(i like options!)

i must be having a brain fart or something cause i cant seem to toggle between cards.(even though its not a "physical"card)

has anyone had this issue or can help?

What is your OS? Processor? Mobo? I've had similar problems in past, but need to know more info. Good luck,

go into Control Panel: Audio Devices, and check through the various boxes to see which soundcard is set for default, and there you can change it.
 
ok, winxp pIII 866mhz asus 810e board w/ delta 44

the system doesnt recognize the built in sound card as a seperate card....only shows drivers.

it seems to have realized another card(d44) was installed and it overrided it..

go figure.

any help would...well, help.

Now that you have the Delta 44, why do you care about the onboard sound card? Everything your PC can play soundwise, should be able to play through the Delta. The sound should be leaps and bounds better than any on-board (or even soundblaster) audio, assuming your monitoring/speakers are decent enough.

Let us know if you need help playing CDs through the Delta as this was something I was confused about as well.

really, what kind of issue?
as far as i know...i have no problems. But, i havent played any music cd's yet either.(i did pop in a porn cd though,..and it played fine.)
im @ work now and ill try it when i get home...
..shhh, dont tell my boss...
 
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sounds and Multimedia

Click the Audio tab, then select your old soundcard under "Preferred Devices". This will tell windows and all generic windows software (including games, winamp, media player, etc) to use your old soundcard for playback. You can still specify the Delta in your recording applications like normal.

I switch back and forth a lot because games work better via my SB Live than they do with the 1010. Typically though I have the delta set as the preferred device.

To listen to CD's you'll need to enable "digital playback" in media player, becasue there is no analog CDROM input on the Delta card. This is actually a good thing because you'll be using the delta's converters for playback instead of the cheap CDROM's converters.

If it's onboard audio you should be able to disable/enable it through the BIOS.
 
Hey Slack, I'm using delta 44 and SB and my "digital playback" is greyed out. Any idea as to why it doesn't allow me to select that?
