By chance yesterday, I had the opportunity to stop by Mars Music. I don't go too often cause I am trying to control the urge to buy gear until after I upgrade my computer... Anyway, while I was in the store tinkering on the keyboards and things I happened upon a cakewalk rep. I wish I would have remembered his name but I don't. Very cool and personable. He allowed me to pick his brain about the issues (mainly dxi stuff) I was having the Sonar - saved me the time to write an email. He seemed knowledgeable as I assumed he would about his product, too. He was trying to load Sonar 2 XL on a rather uncooperative computer the store had. I know he was embarrassed because the computer he was using kept either locking up on him or just rebooting. He, of course, assured me it wasn't Sonar that was having the issues, but that it was the computer instead.

I am asking you guys, have you all had any problems installing Sonar 2? I'm not sure of the specs on the computer but it was in a blackcase appeared to be name brand "Wave" case. Maybe you guys know what kind it was...

No problems here,I did lose my vsc dxi but ts sent me a patch. There should be a patch on the way for some general bugs as usual.

I DID have weird problem:

I run XP PRO, with two user accounts (one for recording and one for other stuff) Sonar would only install on the 'other stuff' account - which was created first and must have some priority over the second 'recording' one. Anyway, the install screen would show up in my recording account and then just hang. Once I switched back to the first account and ran the install, things went just fine. I then made a shortcut from my recording account.

I doubt this is what you're going through, but it was a little scary there for a spell.

No problems whatsoever. Installed it on a home built PIII-933 MHz running Win ME.

No problem... just make sure your PC powerfull enough to handle it... OS ? Clean install of Win XP Home won't let you down. Make sure you have proper driver for your gear...
