Hi folks,
Our band, "The Daily Afflictions" recently wrote and recorded a tune inspired by our singers late night rondevouz on a trip to Rio in Brazil. It's a bit out there; and a mad story, but we hope you like the tune. The song is called "Beaches of Brasil", and is available for a listen at either:
www.myspace.com/thedailyafflictions

or

www.sonicbids.com/thedailyafflictions

Thank you, and any comments/feedback would be extremely appreciated! We're about to finish off our first CD, and exciting times about!

I´m returning to home tomorrow (Brasil, too, but a little far from Rio...)and now I´m listening on simple PC speakers, then, cannot make technical comments about mix (eq,pan,...) or quality recording.

Beautifull song, voice sounds very agreable, to me. A touch of Mark Knopfler (my first impression...).I´m a little affraid to said that is a little loud, my condictions to listen are very poor now, but that´s another impression too.

I think percussion (seems drums + tambourine ? I´m not so sure...)is a litlle "shy", could appear more to give the enough impact to the song, but seems a little "out of click" (metronome) comparing with guitars ...
Well, next week , with better monitors, I will listening again.

And, when return to Brazil,it´s better to try another beaches, more to south of Brazil, Santa Catarina beaches are much better ...

Criminality on Rio de Janeiro (´caused pricipally for the drugs traffic) is terrible.

Well, and Good luck with new album!

Thank you for your comments Ciro! First off, agreed... Rio most definitely doesn't have the best beaches in Brasil. Just happens to be where the song was written. I agree that it's a touch too loud as well. Went a little haywire with the limiter :-) ... As far as the percussion goes, we recently re-recorded it with some extra instruments (mainly congas), but haven't posted that version yet. Sometime soon, hopefully. Again, thank you so for your comments. Best of travels.
