Hi- I'm considering purchasing Cool Edit 2.0 when it comes out, and was curious whether the program breaks down the inputs of a Delta 44 into two separate inputs, allowing to record 4 tracks via the 4 1/4" jacks.

Thanks alot- the website really isnt that helpful

Yep...

I've got a 44 and use Cool Edit 1.2a, here are the recording options you will have.

Delta 44 1/2 stereo
and
Delta 44 3/4 stereo

...or

Delta 44 1/2 left(mono\input 1 only)
and
Delta 44 1/2 right(mono\input 2 only)
and
Delta 44 3/4 left(mono\input 1 only)
and
Delta 44 3/4 right(mono\input 1 only)

...or

you can record inputs 1 and 2 to two mono tracks at the same time as recording a stereo track with 3 and 4 together...you get the idea...;D

How do you set the inputs to mono? And also can you send stereo output to one out? I haven't been able to do this with my delta 66

The options I listed are chosen from within Cool Edit. With the grey button just to the left of each track (the lower button of the two). As for routing two outputs to one...I'm not sure if I understand correctly...is it for headphone use ? There are y-cable adapters you can buy to turn two jack outputs into one mono one, but I normally plug two into two channels of my mixer, pan each one hard r/l and plug the headphones into the mixer, and the monitors into the 'control room out' stereo outputs.

Hope this helps,

Well it's more of a delta 66 question... I know i can use a "Y" cable, but it seems like i should be able to mix left and right to one output with the mixer software supplied. I figured out the mono thing though. Sounds very nice.
