I was just wondering if there is any benefit to having all XLR inputs when you are recording using mostly mics or if TRS inputs (using XLR to TRS 1/4 inch jacks) were just as good.

I prefer using xlr if at all possible. Also if you use the 1/4, on some consoles, you lose the ability to use the mic pres and/or phantom power. As for sound quality, I've never really tested it.

Yup, what Wally said. On my mixer, the Phantom
power only works with XLR.
