Inputs on a delta 1010lt

I dont get the inputs on a delta 1010lt. There are eight rca inputs and eight out's. but they are four right and four left. So isnt that just four total tracks? i dont get that..should i just ignore the right, left, on them and plug my stuff in like they are just regular inputs?...please help this is the only thing that is holding me back from buying the card right now.

There are 8 inputs. They are labelled as stereo pairs, but you can definitely use them as 8 mono inputs or outputs. You can also use them as 4 stereo ins and outs.

instruments are mono, so you do have 8 individual channels. plus each xlr input is mono, so you have 10 ins
