hi all, i have h.s. 2002 (sonar lite) w/ a maya 44 sound card i'm a newbie and am having a ball. my proublem is when i have a audio trk. and want to rec. another, say a vocal, i hear a sort of delay on the mike when monitoring both trks. i"m well versed in the analog world but cant seem to get a real time or synced up mix to rec. the vocal any help would be great as i am stuck. tahnx

hi motowntom...what you are experiencing is called latency delay--the amount of time it takes for your hardware to convert the monitored analog signal to digital and then play it back "live" in sync with your recorded tracks...it sounds like you have a couple hundred milli-seconds right now...not to worry, I expect that you need to tweak your set-up just a bit...I'm not familiar with h s 2002, but if you have CuBase I can help...while in CuBase, clk Options, then Audio Setup...now reduce the kB value of "Memory per Channel" to about 192kB, and change the "Disk Block Buffer Size" to 32kB--if it doesn't change automatically...then clk Apply...this should reduce your latency delay significantly--as long as your computer is plenty fast and you're not running any programs in the background...let us know if this works...later.

...of course you may have to make further adjustments--depending on your overall system performance...
