This is really bugging me now because to me it seems like such a simple thing that has been totally over looked!!!

I'm using an edirol da-2496 on this system and sonar does this with my 8pre's and my lexicon u82s as well.

So here it is, Why the hell can't the inputs be labeled as 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc. why do they have to be in stereo pairs?!!!

There surely must be something i'm missing. I've been messing round with the mono outputs and friendly names buttons but to no avail, always, always coming up as left 1, right 1, stereo 1, left 3, right 3, stereo 3.

I hope i've explained my problem well enough here, not an easy thing to word! lol

ANy help is much appreciated, its niggling the hell out of me!!!!

Pretty sure that's a Windows thing, as it can only recognize inputs as stereo pairs. Templates are your friend here. Set it up once and save as a template! No more worries.

But surely there must be a way of telling sonar what's what, i mean you can do it for control surfaces and midi instruments and everything so why not the inputs?! Ooooo it winds me up something chronic!!! lol

So if you know about renaming them with "friendly names" why not try this:

1R 2L
3R 4L
5R 6L
7R 8L

??????????

So no one has a solution for this?! Windows problem or not, surely it can't be that hard for sonar to recognize what is happening. It's such a bloody simple issue!!!

thats just the way it is in Sonar, When I open Cubase the inputs are numbered differently.
