Hi, Peoples,

Anyone know how to change the input for an individual track in garageband? Using a smaller Onyx series board run into the computer and Garageband won't let me record more then one track at a time because any mic I plug into the board goes to only one channel. Stuck on this one.

I don't know your board but have you set the inputs and outputs in the regular computer System Preferences sound section on the Mac, and also in Garageband itself under Garageband > Preferences > Audio/Midi ?

Sometimes things also need to be set up using the Utility at Applications/Utilties/Audio Midi Setup.

If the ducks all line up you should get some choices in the bottom right corner of GB, under Input Source. How many depends on your interface.

Good luck with it.

Chris

PS What exactly is the Onyx? If it's a mixer rather than an audio interface you may get very limited input anyway. It's not uncommon for people to buy a mixer instead of an audio interface, thinking that they do the same job. So just to get that out of the way, what have you got and how is it hooked up?

Hakea,

Thanks for the reply. I have already set the input in Comp as well as GB to be my board. Onyx is a series of boards produced by Mackie. Mine is the 1620i. I would post a link but the Forum won't let me do that. Looking in the "Input Source", which I am embarrassed to not have noticed last night, it seems that this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll be back very soon.
