i have no idea where to write this as there is not a singing forum or anything like that.
but anyway... this is for any pro singers.
i want to increase my vocal range. now i know the basics like how to breathe through the diagpram (or however it's spelt). and i've just been doing exercises like singing the scales up and down using the different vowel sounds (a e o oo).
i was wondering... what type of singer am i? like sophrano, bass, alto, tenor etc.
i can go from about 2 F# below middle C to about Bb above middle C.
ever since i started doing the exercises, i've jumped from G to Bb which is good i think but i feel that when i hit these high notes, i don't really feel like i'm hitting them with strength and seem to be straining. like i can sustain the note, but i can't really move around from one high note to the next.
is there anybody that can offer me any techniques or tips that can allow me to
(1) increase my vocal range
(2) allow me to sound better
or is the only way to get better, just keep doing the exercises im doing now?
thank you.
