Can anyone help. I am recording on a DP-01FX. I do the various tracks keeping an eye on the volume. Then I do the final mix, again with awareness to the volume levels. However when I port it to the computer to burn to a CD the volume is about 30% of that of a commercial disc. The same result in Media Player of the others.

Is that to be expected? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how you get buy that. I don't think its the recorder tho. I mix straight to Roxio on my PC thru L/R out on the DP01 to L/R in on my PC I turn up the Volume all the way in Roxio and notice the same thing. I think it has something to do with Mastering

are you keeping the master volume at about 6 or7 while recording? my dp01fx seems to have plenty of volume without distorting at all the grey levels. I keep the rythem and backgrounds at the 7 level with leads and vocals at about 7 or 8 on the channel v levels while keeeping the master volume at 6 or 7. this combo seems to work well as long as while recording, the input volume level is adjusted so the red light is not on or blinking (just slightly less). hope this helps ya

Commercial CDs are compressed like crazy to make them as loud as possible. Without a few grand in outboard mastering gear, it's difficult to make home-grown CDs as loud. You might try running your master tracks through Audacity (a free download) to boost the volume levels. Without compression tho, you might run the risk of distorting on the peaks.
