Does anyone know why I cant use my onboard audio
after I installed the audiotrack inca 88 ?

I'd prefer to use this one because the inca is not that stable when doing audio and midi playback
...

for some reason the realtec drivers are no longer visible when I try to select another sound device for audio playback
I installed the latets drivers for the onboard card but that wont do it
ps my motherboard is an MSI K8t NEO

thanx in advance

Ok, as long as it isn't Win2000.

Have heard of this happening with XP, but never heard what the cure was.
It's as if fitting a pci soundcard has automatically disabled the on-board sound, but I don't believe there is anything to make that so!
Try another pci slot for the Inca or try disabling the on-board in the PC Bios - save changes - restart, shut down, re-enable in the bios and see if XP re-detects it.

Is the AC97 actually there, but with a problem, in Windows Device Manager or disappeared altogether?

No it just dissapeared ...
onli the inca's are available ..

but I will try to disable and save en re-enable in the bios and see whatever that may bring
